Vicar Stephen Kieser

Vicar Steve Kieser was born on February 12, 1970, to Steve and Carol Kieser in Seymour, Indiana, and was baptized that same year on March 8th. On August 8, 1992 he and Julia Rump of Plano, Texas, were married. They have been blessed with five children: Stephen, Rebecca, Jonathan, Nathan, and Abigail.

Vicar Kieser spent ten years in Lutheran education prior to attending the seminary. After he and Julia graduated from Concordia College, Ann Arbor, they both received their first assignment as teachers to Faith Lutheran in Sebring, Florida. After one year in Florida, Vicar Kieser received a call to Trinity Lutheran in Hoffman, IL, to teach grades seven and eight. When Trinity’s principal retired, he was elected to be the new principal. In 1998, Vicar Kieser was called to Faith Lutheran in Plano, TX, to be the principal where he served until he left to attend Concordia Theological Seminary – Fort Wayne, Indiana. He continues to remain active in Lutheran education and serves on the Board of Directors for the Consortium for Classical and Lutheran Education.

The Kieser family loves the outdoors, camping and playing sports. Vicar Kieser personally enjoys several hobbies including beekeeping, gardening, flying racing homing pigeons, and swimming. Julia is a stay-at-home mom and enjoys church activities, bread-making, and organic foods. His vicarage at Redeemer Lutheran Church was from July 2005 through July 2006.
