People of the Book Lutheran Outreach
Rev. Karim Baidaoui was installed as POBLO Missionary–at–Large to the Islamic people in the LCMS Texas District on Sunday, August 28, 2005 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church.
He will be leading us in a new 6–week class entitled "Islam in Light of the Cross". Classes will be held every Tuesday morning starting January 31st and ending March 7th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Parish Hall.
The purpose of this Bible study is to encourage us:
- To become more involved in the Cross– culture ministries of Christ’s Church.
- To gain in–depth exposure to mission and missionaries.
- To discover that God can use everyone in some special way.
- To view ourselves as vital in becoming a “sending Church” Mat. 28:19
- To catch the vision of reaching a specific people, beyond just sending, supporting missionaries.
- To recognize that Bibleless people need the Scriptures. This is a responsibility of the church.
- To realize the privilege in God selecting ”Redeemer Lutheran Church” to witness and share the Gospel with our Muslim neighbors.
- To realize that God’s mission is the church’s mission.
- To fully understand that God’s mission is our mission.
- And finally realize that God’s mission is URGENT.
The Koran and the Bible will be used in this study. Everyone is welcome!
